Dave Norris Recognized as 2011 Leader's Leader

The Leadership Charlottesville Alumni Association (LCAA) presented its annual Leaders' Leader Award at their 2011 Annual Luncheon on January 26 to Dave Norris. A member of the Leadership Charlottesville class of 2000, Dave was recognized for contributions to the community including positions on the MACAA Board of Directors, the Public Housing Associates of Residents Advisory Board, the Piedmont Housing Alliance Board of Directors, Westhaven Nursing Clinic Coalition, the Thomas Jefferson Area Coalition for the Homeless, and working with JABA on the 2020 Community Plan for Aging

Dave’s professional life has also focused on the less fortunate. Past positions have included Associate Director of Madison House, founding Director of the Connecting People to Jobs Initiative, Coordinator of the Virginia Economic Development Corporation's Micro Loan Program for low-income, minority and female entrepreneurs, Executive Director of People and Congregations Engaged in Ministry. Currently, Dave serves as Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Blue Ridge in addition to his duties as Mayor of Charlottesville.
